Republicans are a a twitter and twittering their hearts out with the victory of Scott Brown in the Massachusetts Senate race.

Brown's election and its effects are fascinating. It's one thing to to have pulled the rug from under the Democrats' filibuster-proof agenda. But to have caused a collapse of the supposed juggernaut of a Senate health care reform bill speaks volumes. If the bill were a mechanical system of levers and gears crafted into a framework, and if one small push would cause it to come crashing down, engineers would have one word to describe what it was-- unstable. There were fundamental flaws in its construction. I think the analogy holds.
